This city now doth, like a garment,
wear the beauty of the morning;
silent bare, ships, towers, domes,
theatres and temples lie open
unto the fields and to the sky;
All bright and glittering
in the smokeless air.
William Wordsworth
Towered cities please us then,
and the busy hum of men.

arriving in new cities,
wandering empty streets
with no destination.

for the arriving. . .

poetic and marvelous subjects.
We are enveloped and steeped as though
in an atmosphere of the marvelous;
but we do not notice it.
Baudelaire
Our built environment

Love You,
cloudia
Yes, I can see the built up beauty,
ReplyDeletebut I still need the solace, the heartbalms and the peace that I find in nature.
I am not a city dweller by choice, but I do like these kinds of abstract images from towns.

Your viewplanes are always exquisite.
ReplyDeleteNice words. Awesome photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week ahead.
You have some amazing architecture Cloudia, but it sounds like public opinion there is as powerful as it is here, a good thing!
ReplyDeleteThe same issues arise here and one hopes the right decisions are made.
ReplyDeleteI always like the way your quotes and photos mix together.
ReplyDeleteYour last shot is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThanks Friends
ReplyDeleteGoodness, William has such a way with thoughts and words. Aloha.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how some many folks live up to their names. William as one! Wordsworth, so much to gain by reading him. Aloha!
