A L O H A !
You can't live a perfect day
without doing something
for someone who will
never be able to repay you.
John Wooden
Plumeria, usually a child's first Lei
E lei kau, e lei ho‘oilo i ke aloha.
Love is worn like a lei
through the winter.
He ho'okele wa'a no ka la 'ino.
"A steersman for a stormy day."

The canoe stands for the island,
the community. Some steer,
some paddle, and some
only ride along.
On islands, in
small communities,
where people know
one another,
we must paddle together
if we want to get anywhere.
Those who do not
believe in the voyage,
are not forced to paddle.
But, being a
beloved community,
they too will share the
benefits
of the voyage.
The door is always open,
to join instead of jeer.
Industry, economy,
honesty, and kindness
form a quartet of virtues
that will never be
improved upon.
James Oliver
Hearts rebuilt from hope
resurrect dreams
killed by hate.

True friends are those
who lift you up
when your heart's wings
forget how to fly.
