Three Matters and a Fig Leaf

A L O H A From Honolulu!

A journey is a person in itself;
no two are alike.
And all plans, safeguards,
policies and coercion
are fruitless...

...We find after years of struggle
that we do not take a trip;
a trip takes us.
John Steinbeck

Ficus religiosa or sacred fig is a species
of fig native to the Indian subcontinent
and Indochina that belongs to Moraceae,
the fig or mulberry family. It is also known
as the bodhi tree, pippala tree,
peepul tree, peepal tree, pipal tree,
or ashvattha tree.

In the end,
only three things matter:
how much you loved,
how gently you lived,
and how gracefully you
let go of things
not meant for you
  Jack Kornfield

When you look at things
from a different perspective
your thinking begins to change
but so often we see
things as problems
because we refuse to
change our perspective.
        Sope Agbelusi

Nothing is forever
in this world, not
even our problems.
    Charlie Chaplin

  1. It looks like something happened to the two front palm trees, half their life ago.

  3. You friends are wonderful. Your comments tend to make me look again in my own work and see new things. Thanks for that gift and for your friendship. You certainly have mine. Pixie says me too

  4. No journey can be planned. It takes on a life of its own, leading us to choose the next step. Meditate on the bodhi tree for green plant wisdomw. Or hang upside down for a new perspective. Accept the choice with your gut feeling.
