Bringers

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Sunshine is delicious,
rain is refreshing,
wind braces us up,
snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such
thing as bad weather,
only different kinds
of good weather.
John Ruskin

Today, give a stranger
one of your smiles.
It might be the only
sunshine he sees all day.
H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Gardeners, I think,
dream bigger dreams
than emperors.
Mary Cantwell

Those who bring sunshine
to the lives of others -

- cannot keep it
from themselves.
James Matthew Barrie

Weeds are flowers too,
once you get to
know them.

  1. I'm afraid strangers don't get to see my smiles very often. I still wear a mask indoors.

  3. From the dictionary. A weed is any undesirable vegetation. So if you desire it, it's not a weed.

  5. Beautiful, warm photos as I gaze onto the street in front of my house which would make a good bobsled run.

  6. Ruskin lived in the UK so he must have been very familiar with days of endless grey drizzle. How could he possibly think of such days as pleasant?

  9. Lovely Pixie!
That first quote inspired me, but I cannot think what it was. My brain is so old! I am at my wit's end.

  10. Ours is a virtuous circle, in which we are enriched and enrich one another. Extraordinary. And I am extraordinarily grateful for each of you.

  12. I think mr. John Ruskin is wee bit too positive with the weather being always good. Apparently he has not experience Finnish winter. We Finns say; there´s no such thing as a bad weather, only poor clothing.
