A L O H A From Honolulu!
African tulip tree (Spathodea campanulata)
an evergreen tree native to West Africa.
Our choice is stark.
Therefore, choose life!
Yes;
My blood pressure too
skyrockets when
I see the news,
but I'm also finding
a deep resignation
in a radically simple faith
that practices kindness and
refuses to be disempowered
by fear.
Art, Rest & retreat
are important tools.
Nurture your light.
A father used to buy goods from
poor people at a high price,
even though he didn't need them.
Sometimes he paid way
more for them. His children
were amazed. One day they asked
"why are you doing this dad?"
Their father replied:
"It's charity wrapped in dignity."
Saima Muneer
We are all equal in the fact
that we are all different.
We are all the same
in the fact that we will
never be the same.
We are united by the
reality that all colours and
all cultures are distinct &
individual. We are harmonious
in the reality that we are all
held to this earth by
the same gravity.
C. JoyBell C.
better yet, late at night.
Go to the forest or to the
field, or lock yourself in a room.
You will meet solitude there.
There you will be able to listen
attentively to the noise of the
wind first, to birds singing, to see
wonderful nature and to notice
yourself in it, and to come back
to harmonic connection with the
world and its Creator.
Rabbi Nachman of Breslov
Many people are alive
but don’t touch
the miracle of
being alive.

There should be more charity wrapped in dignity - a hand up rather than a hand out.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see the news I laugh, otherwise I'd cry.
ReplyDeleteCharity wrapped in dignity, this will keep us going. Such kindness and I am always looking for kindness 😊 nice to receive but is all powerful when we give.

Charity wrapped in dignity. What a remarkable way to look at it.
ReplyDeleteI see things on the news that makes me want to cry. I can't understand why some humans can be so cruel to other humans.
Had to laugh at the go cup in the planter. I hope it was just resting there and not trash.
Thanks for sharing these incredible photos and quotes, as well as the adorable Pixie and drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Cloudia.
I stopped watching the news. I pick and choose what I want to know from my news feed. It truly is so unheathy to watch, hear, absoube the horrors of the world. However when I come here and see the beauty you show I am camled. Pixie looks especially cute today. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteChoose life! Yes :) Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteAs always wonderful words of wisdom. Pixie has such beautiful eyes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Cloudia! Love the quote from Rabbi Nachman, a very clever man. Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWow that is a lovely blossom from an African Tulip tree is it? Such beauty everywhere if we wander about, open our eyes and read Cloudia's lovely posts too. A co-worker of mine should be back to work tomorrow he and his wife spent two weeks in your lovely world, and another friend is leaving on the 8th with a whole group of her family, and she plans on reading by the water most of her stay and I'm thinking that she roams about and sees what there is to behold! Aloha sweet Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteWe still have so much to learn! Your post is beautiful. Charity wrapped in dignity is a good way to go. Belated Happy T Day, hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWow !
