After the rain, the sun

After a day of cloud
and wind and rain
Sometimes the setting
sun breaks out again,
And touching all the
darksome woods with light,
Smiles on the fields
until they laugh and sing

Growing up, I heard
a lot about strength.
My dad -
a Holocaust survivor -
embodied it, though he
would never say that
about himself.
Not only did he survive
one of the most horrific
events in history, but
he never lost hope
along the way,
crediting acts
of kindness with
keeping him alive.

Being at the beach without the ability to swim is like being on the edge of the Grand Canyon without the ability to fly. (It doesn't make any sense but it sounds like nothing else.) 😍
ReplyDeleteDoes Pixie like playing her own version of tennis?
ReplyDeleteOho, the Indian Myna looks really fierce, dear Cloudia! Better not get in the way! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou've collected beautiful sayings and photos again. I was particularly touched by the quote from Daniel Lubetzky.
All the best to you and Pixie and have a nice weekend - Traude 😘

Thanks for today's virtual bouquet. Pixie looks like she's wondering if that myna bird will try to steal her tennis ball. Have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe can learn so much from these quotes and be encouraged. Thank you for sharing your beauty my friend!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeing at the beach is a happy time. The Indian Myna does look fierce and Pixie just looks sleepy. Great quotes, especially the Daniel Lubetzky quote. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Pixie played with balls and toys more when younger, Now she rushes around like a dynamo when she isn't being dignified. She does like to lay with the head in one's palm. Thanks for inquiring, William
