A L O H A From Honolulu!
When I am feeling dreary,
annoyed and generally
unimpressed by life, I
imagine what it would be like
to come back to this world
for just a day after
having been dead. I
imagine how sentimental
I would feel about the very things
I once found stupid, hateful or
mundane. Oh, there’s a light switch!
It’s so… endearing.

Lehua
The lehua is the first tree
that springs up from a
recent lava flow.
It’s for that reason,
when we speak in Hawaiian
and we speak of people who are
skilled, strong, and beloved,
they’re often referred to as
pua lehua, or lehua flowers.
They, like the lehua, have a
kind of resilience, a strength and
a grace about them.

Love You,
Pixie & Cloudia
Pixie is springing up like a Lehua flower! Great post today. I love all the quotes.
ReplyDeleteDivide and rule is appropriate for what happened in the TN legislature today. Such a shame that politicians could act that way. Discrimination at its worst.
ReplyDeletePixie, on the other hand, seems more intent on other interests.
The lehua is beautiful and I can see why it represents Hawaiians.
Love the thought of the lehua people. We need more of them. Many more.

Thank you for looking in friends! Pixie has a rather extensive lanai or veranda to walk on. Occasionally a bird will land on the rail and sing. But other than that, Pixie has it to herself as her domain. Wishing you each a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe sunset reflected on the water is a great shot. Have a Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteThe sunset is absolutely beautiful. Happy Easter, Cloudia and Pixie.
ReplyDeleteLook at Pixie! She is the star!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset sky!
