it never ceases to be,
In the present

every painting should

In hard times, people don't
want to be told to look
on the bright side.
They want to know
you're on their side.

thinks & feels with us,
and who, though distant,
is close to us in spirit,
this makes the earth for us
an inhabited garden.

By Lauren YS and Hiero Veiga at Dillingham Plaza Central on the Dillingham Plaza walls, this mural commands attention with its psychedelic colors and monumental size that dwarfs a box truck. The subject is the artists’ interpretation of a mo‘o, a Hawaiian shape-shifting water spirit, posed amid a menagerie that includes a duck-headed octopus, silver unicorn and golden plague doctor. With a wealth of details and mesmerizing hues, there’s something new to appreciate
with each fresh look.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool post. Pixie has her "I'm adorable" face on. A stylish worker dressed to match the trees he works under! And there are touches of Asian-Pacific culture with the stone lantern and that beautiful water spirit in the mural. Have you met a water spirit when you were swimming or living on the boat?
ReplyDeleteI like the Hawaiian legend in a psychedelic style. It works well and is very beautiful.
