A L O H A From Honolulu!
The older you get,
the more you realize it's
okay to live a life that
others don't understand.

When skies turn gray,
and raindrops fall,
Don't let your spirits
sink at all!
For in each drop
a gentle grace,
Symphonies of
nature's embrace.
and raindrops fall,
Don't let your spirits
sink at all!
For in each drop
a gentle grace,
Symphonies of
nature's embrace.

My old 1973 bmw r75/5
The engine purrs a distant song,
Two wheels parked, a journey done.
No dust-kissed roads
or wind-whipped hair,
Just echoes of adventures shared.
Each curve a prayer, each hill a test,
A rebel hymn upon my chest.
Now quiet roads of mind I roam,
Old stories bloom, while here at home.
For though the miles may cease to spin,
The joy they brought still dwells within.
Contentment hums, a gentler tune,
symphony of all that's been.
The open road, a chapter closed,
But in my heart, the legend grows.
So let the quiet be my guide,
My journey's wisdom, deep inside.
The motorcycle, a memory's gleam,
But adventure flows on, the endless stream.
And in the stillness, I confess,
The greatest ride is mindfulness.
So let the engine's hum be still,
I've chased enough, my cup is filled.
A nice warm shower,
a cup of tea, and
a caring ear may be all
you need to warm your heart.

Beautiful! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI love your ode to your bike. And in this dry land I always welcome rain.
ReplyDeletePixie's wondering why your old bike doesn't have a sidecar for her. She's ready to hit the road with you... Lovely post today.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute doggie and your sweet Pixie!
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great week!
I do not need to conform to the majority as I get older.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cat would appreciate a warm shower. 😎
ReplyDelete...many hearts need to be thawed.
ReplyDeleteWonderful words that hit home on many fronts, Cloudia. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI needed some warm and sunny photos since we had more snow here in NH. Snickers is so cute. Give Pixie a pat for me. And if this is a T day post, happy early T day too.
ReplyDeleteYour reflection upon your motorcycle days is excellent, Cloudia!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I haven't seen or heard about Meadow Gold milk in a long time.
ReplyDeleteThanks friends! Sharing yourselves here means the world to us. Aloha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by to share at this week's party at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/12/wine-country-aaaahhh.html! Aloha and have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThe first quote is excellent! It's not always easy to be yourself and live the life you want to lead, but it is rewarding if you can do it.
ReplyDeleteI loved the motorcycle poem. Made me smile and so did Pixie.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cloudia. Scritches to Pixie. ♥
The dog is traveling in comfort and he deserves it. Enjoy the day, Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteDear Cloudia,
ReplyDeletethe BMW from 1973 is a magnificent motorcycle. Is the hymn underneath written by you or does “just like that” fit perfectly? Your photos and sayings are beautiful again - the drop of fuel, colored like a rainbow. The sweet dog 🐶. And of course cute pixie 😻!
All the best and a happy new week, Traude

LOVED Snickers, but of course, Pixie steals the show.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Meadow Gold milk, but it's a great entry for T this week, dear Cloudia.
That WAS my own 1973 BMW. I wrote the motorcycle poem based on my ideas with the aid of Google Bard Artificial Intelligence! Thank you for asking!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you, friends!
Beautiful photos and lovely poem.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your first quote. It definitely resonates with me! I'm very happy I learned as I got older that . . . "The older you get, the more you realize it's okay to live a life that "others don't understand." When I finally realized it and started doing it, it was extremely liberating.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, it's right on time for me. Wishing you a great Week, my friend!
Love the pictures and the wonderful quotes, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSnickers is a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteWhat an encouraging post! Thank you! Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia for such a lovely post. I do like that photo of Pixie. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteLoved your poem about the motorbike. It brought back many memories of trips my late husband and I did together. (I rode pillion). We didn't have a BMW (I love the one in the photo, early 70s I think, beautiful bike) but his last bike was a Kawasaki custom. What a lot of fun we had on that. I have since given away all his (and mine) bikers gear and the motorbike was sold when we left the UK 12 years ago. Those were the days....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisca
I used to be fascinated by the rainbows in fuel spills so this photo made me smile.....but not as much as seeing Pixie! Hmmm, biking days well over.....maybe a sidecar but definitely not a bike! Enjoy your happy memories. Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
