A L O H A From Honolulu!
Approaching the beach on foot
is like entering the precincts
of a grand cathedral,
a pilgrimage site.
There are always strangers
about but they too are pilgrims.
Here we experience our
commonality before the waves,
the space, the sky.
is like entering the precincts
of a grand cathedral,
a pilgrimage site.
There are always strangers
about but they too are pilgrims.
Here we experience our
commonality before the waves,
the space, the sky.
Our pilgrim hearts
In borrowed sun,
Toward the ocean's
altar run.

in our own way,

A good question as who I am becoming is something that puzzles me.
ReplyDeleteMay it be good 😊
ReplyDeleteLove your tunnel of timeless secrets. It's a very cool shot. Pixie looks surprised at what or who someone she sees is becoming. Who is she looking at?
ReplyDeleteI love the quote on becoming, and hope I continually improve.
ReplyDeleteI resent people driving on the beach too. As I would people driving into a cathedral.
Great as always. Thanks for this start of the week.
ReplyDeleteAs a generally mild and tolerant person, I could reserve a very special (and hopefully excruciating) punishment for those who drive on beaches, or any other of nature’s few remaining pristine spaces.
ReplyDelete...is that old fellow up to the task?
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes and photos. It feels good to have your toes in the warm sand.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quote, A private life with your favorite people is a happy life.
Take care, have a great week!
I love your nature photos, but that bell is amazing.
ReplyDelete"Who you are becoming
ReplyDeleteis more important than
who you've been."
👍
I do approach a beach with that sense of awe and respectfulness, there lies a quiet ocean which can offer destruction so easily!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be approaching a nice warm beach this morning, Cloudia. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEspecially loved the poem about the beach, Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

The only time who you've been is important is if you get caught.
