Sunset Surfer

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Sun-kissed skin,
etched with brine calligraphy,
Silver hair, a crown
of well earned bravery.
No longer chasing giants
with youthful might,
He dances with mastered skill
and joy on waves of fading light.

Stone gaze softens, sternness fades,
A lei of blooms, in festive shades.
Lunar New Year paints the air,
Guardian lion, enjoying the fair.
The lion welcomes, fierce yet kind,
Blessings shared for all to find.
Silent sentinel, wise and old,
Whispers blessings, brave and bold.

Do not grow old,
No matter
how long you live.
Never cease to stand
like curious children
Before the great mystery
Into which we were born
Albert Einstein

Shine your soul with the same ego-less humility as the rainbow and no matter where you go in this world or the next, love will find you, attend you, and bless you.

  14. What a wonderful surfer sunset and poem. I also loved the Lunar New Year with the lion and his lei. Just beautiful, as is Pixie and your new blog header. That is quite a balancing act. It's a good thing the glass is apparently empty. Thanks for this awesome entry for T this week, dear Cloudia. I hope you and Pixie have a super day, too.

  15. I love the photo of the women and girls in traditional dress from 2018. I haven’t been to Hawaii for a while, but a couple of times we saw dance performances and traditional singing with traditional dress and it was wonderful.

  17. I love that new header a lot. What a cool photo of (I'm assuming) Pixie. And I also love that quote about not growing old. It's true our bodies age, but we don't have to become an "old" person. Thanks for another beautiful post, and happy T day Cloudia.

  21. The words, the photos are all just so beautiful this week, but it is those cat eyes peeping through the mesh. I was at my friend's house the other day and her cat climbed into an empty bag and turned round to peep out...I wish I had a cat still. Happy T Day, Chrisx
