The Census Doesn't Count It

Life is about
creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw

Every person passing through this life
will unknowingly leave something
and take something away.
Most of this "something" cannot
be seen or heard or numbered
or scientifically detected or counted.
It's what we leave in the minds
of other people and what they
leave in ours. Memory.
The census doesn't count it.
Nothing counts without it.
Robert Fulghum

  1. Why is Pixie sitting with her face to the wall? Is she on a time out? Or is she meditating? That last picture almost looks like a lion dance costume, but when I enlarged the picture, I still couldn't read the card. What is it? Is there an upcoming festival where we will see more of its splendor?

  4. I love your quotes and photos today. I had to laugh that the female (last photo) is depicted with the mouth closed. Have a great Friday with Smiles, Cloudia.

I was a big hockey fan as a kid but now not so much. I still enjoy watching a good game though.

  9. Thank you for asking. I am not a therapist. Although I did work in human services in my career. That dancing lion at the end is Japanese which is why it looks a bit different than the Chinese ones we are used to. Look for photos from this weekend's Honolulu festival. In coming days there will be many costumes, taiko drums and other goodies! Thanks friends. We appreciate you more than you know. Pixie was showing us her lovely coat. Aloha

  15. I haven't seen a rainbow in the last couple of days so it made me smile to see yours. I hope the sun will come out for Art's morning run tomorrow.

  16. I read all Robert Fulgram's books back in the day... that's a wonderful quote. i hope having been here wouldn't be for naught, that something connected me to others and meant something.
