Where Shadows Once Spread

A L O H A From Honolulu!

There are two ways to do anything.
We can do it in order to make
life better for me, or we can
do it in order to make life better
for someone else, as well as for me.
The first way gets the thing done;
the second way gets the thing done
and makes life a sacrament.
Sister Joan

Young and brash I saw faults everywhere, A world of wrongs not a garden to share. But time the sculptor chiseled at my view, Softened the edges Made my world new. Flaws, like brushstrokes, blended in new light, A tapestry of growth, What a beautiful sight. Curses turned to benedictions sweet and strong, Each imperfection A part of life's own song. No longer critic with a judging eye, But student learning as the moments fly. Now with gentle years my heart finds praise, In every sunset Of life's winding ways. Let others judge I'll find the light instead, The beauties blooming where shadows once spread.

Don't wait for inspiration.
It comes while you are working.

Dare to err and to dream.
Deep meaning often lies
in childish plays.
Friedrich Schiller
