A L O H A From Honolulu!
My future starts when
I wake up every morning...
Every day I find something
creative to do with my life.
Miles Davis
Giant Taro
The fact that I can plant a seed
and it becomes a flower,
share a bit of knowledge
and it becomes another's,
smile at someone and receive
a smile in return,
are to me continual
spiritual exercises.
Leo Buscaglia
Descendant of giants
though small she may be,
Dinosaurs live on
Dinosaurs live on
wild and free.
The flowers her castle
a throne made of petals
Fresh red her domain
Fresh red her domain
among which she settles.
Stalks tiny flies, with
a lightning-quick strike,
A hunter supreme
in dappled sunlight.
Cloudia Charters
There is an eagle in me
that wants to soar,
and there is a
and there is a
hippopotamus in me
that wants to wallow
that wants to wallow
in the mud.

Oh, humble baguette,
hero of the lunch,
A primal pleasure
Your hearty, crusty crunch!
Gift of grain
by fire made new,
A queenly wonder
for me and you too!
Cloudia
Your poem is making me want to go out and find a gecko outside. Have a great weekend, Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures and excellent quotes!
ReplyDeleteI love the poem about the gecko and its accompanying portrait. I also love the Sandburg poem about the eagle and hippo, although Pixie thinks that since cats are superior beings they never have mud-wallowing hippos inside them, only soaring eagles and pixie dust.
ReplyDeleteLove your poem.
