The Wise Flip Flop

A L O H A From Honolulu!

When 'I' is replaced with 'we',
even illness becomes wellness.
Malcolm X

 If the universe is
bigger and stranger
 than I can imagine,
it's best to meet it
with an
empty bladder.
       John Scalzi

A Common Mundane Tragedy
A flip-flop woke proud,
Ready to dance
In the beach town crowd
But her strap came askance!

“Oh no!” cried the flip-flop
"This is no fun!"
 I was feeling so Tip-Top
In the warm salty sun!

Yet with surf breezes
A thought came to play:
“Maybe fates sneezes
Shouldn't ruin my day.”

BE the Wise Flip Flop!

  18. It seems to me that we (in the mainland USA) called them thongs for a while, and then switched to calling them flip-flops. As far as I can find out, the rubber version with the v-shape strap was patented in 1957, so they’ve been out for a while. Nice verse.
