Treasure

A L O H A From Honolulu!

In quiet days
Where moments blend,  
A tranquil life
My gentle friend.  

No storms to chase
No fires to fight,  
Just peaceful dawns
And soft twilight... 




Hippeastrum 
The world may call
For tales untold,  
Adventures bold
And riches gold.  
Yet in the calm
A treasure lies—  
A steady heart
And clear, blue sky.  

So if your life
Is calm and plain,  
Be grateful
For the gentle rain...

Then in the quiet
You can find,  
A soothing balm
For heart and mind.  

Embrace the mundane's
subtle charm,  
A life untroubled by alarm.  
For in that stillness
Lies the art—  
And beauty
Of a quiet heart.

    I think that the purportedly Chinese curse 'May you live in interesting times' is truly vicious. I am grateful for my dull (and calm) existence.

    Calm is a wonderful state of mind if only we could live our lives without the intrusion of news and politics. It is hard to keep it simple with all the nonsense that it going on. But, it is worth a try ... Pixie looks like she has figured it out, so if she can, we should be able to, right? And I love the music ... came from the year I got married and I remember it well :)
