A L O H A From Honolulu!
Just stop for a minute
and you'll realize you're
happy just being.
I think it's the pursuit
that screws up happiness.
If we drop the pursuit,
it's right here.
James Hillman
So, you're telling me that
every time you thought you couldn't
get through something difficult,
you did. And now,
you're back here
thinking you won't succeed?
Trust your track record, my friend.
Vex King
In a garden green
Where the veggies all bloom,
One had grown to the
Size of a small town saloon.
An eggplant named Edgar
Who longed to go fast
Declared, “I’m a rocket!
I'm leaving at last!”
His friends in the patch
All cheered
And they clapped,
The day that Edgar
Prepared to be zapped!
“Four, three, two, one
Blast off!” he exclaimed,
And up through the sky
That aubergine flamed.
With a whoosh and a roar
He soared through the night,
The first veggie-shaped rocket,
what a ridiculous sight!
So next time you see
An eggplant in bloom,
Remember, they may dream
Of the stars and the moon!
Our entire life …
consists ultimately in
accepting ourselves
as we are.

Love the pineapple with a straw. And try hard to accept myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm more than accept you. I'm grateful for you!
DeletePixie has that "I accept myself" look, and then she's wondering why anyone would fly in an eggplant rocket to the moon. Her rocket ship would be woven entirely out of catnip. Cool post today. (I have voted and the CA secretary of state informs me that my ballot has already been processed and counted, just waiting for polls to close on Tuesday to get posted. Here's hoping for some very blue days in the coming week...)
ReplyDeletePixie is looking as wise as is Elephant's Child.
ReplyDeleteThat is fun about Edgar.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images and wise words.
ReplyDeleteThe Pixie photo is my favorite.
Take care, have a great day and a happy week ahead.
...we have had a bumper crop of eggplants from the garden this year. I've never eaten so many!!!

ReplyDeleteLoved your poem and coincidentally had eggplant for dinner last night!
ReplyDeleteI never thought about eggplant rockets.
ReplyDeleteI grew eggplants one year and I had so many I had to give them away. I never thought of them as rockets. What a great poem.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pineapple with the straw and the drink you shared with us for T this Tuesday, dear Cloudia.
I like the guy walking across the beach with his board.
ReplyDeleteThank you, these quotes did really help (I have some things to manage I am "afraid" of).
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post Cloudia. Not only is there is a fun pup, but that poem is great!!!! We all need a little smile and silliness today I think. Have a great T day. hugs-Erika
