A L O H A From

Every day one should
at least hear one little song,
read one good poem,
see one fine painting and
-- if at all possible --
speak a few
sensible words.
Goethe
These single-wall Hawaii bungalows
are a beautiful aspect of our
local built environment. I love
these little Hale
("Hah - Lay" - Hawaiian word
When storms descend
and shadows fall,
We stand together,
one and all
Hands joined tightly,
hearts beat strong
Showing kindness
is where we belong
Comfort flows
like gentle light
Healing hearts,
making futures bright
In darkness,
we'll hold hope's true song
Helping those affected
To get along.

There is always something
to be grateful for, even
when life is hard and
times are tough.

P:ixie's poem is beautiful. Nearly as beautiful as she is.
ReplyDeleteGood read about that single wall houses. Only the problem building with wood becomes now painfully clear. Reason that around 1500 it was forbidden to build wooden houses inside the city walls in what are now the Netherlands.
