When night feels long And hope is small, Shadows shifting On the wall. Remember: Dawn will come As dawns have done, Uncurling the light Of a quiet sun. Breathe slow. Rest here. Dark will pass. Soft morning heals With dewy grass. You’re not alone Let sorrow mend; Daylight seeks you Friend to friend. Cloudia Charters

Earth’s crammed
with heaven
and every common bush
afire with God Elizabeth Barrett Browning,
Aurora Leigh

Life doesn't always
move in straight lines.
Sometimes you have to
dance diagonally to find your way.
The most exciting journeys are
rarely vertical or horizontal.
When in doubt,
step out on the diagonal;
that’s where the world
opens up!
Don’t fear the diagonal.
Chase it!
The diagonal path offers
the greatest perspective.

Why did the cat walk
diagonally across
the living room?
Because she heard
that’s where the best
“purrspective” is!
Slant-astic!

  6. I am glad that the threat of a tsunami has receded. There are not many places to flee to in Hawaii. Stay safe.

  7. ...great to see the hula dancers.

  8. OK, choosing the diagonal shuffle today. I noted a map yesterday was skewed such that north was in the upper left hand corner, rather than directly at the top. So it's a start on a different approach to things!

  15. I don't write poetry but I love to read poems. Sure had such truth in them, gave me food for thought. Love the analogy. Blessings
