Linking To
Monday Murals
This intricate and beloved mosaic of the Chinese goddess Quan Yin with several Fierce Immortals used to live in Waikiki.
When the building was razed the challenge of moving the mosaic was just too expensive, and so it lives only in photos and my memory. Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I do

  1. That is sad about the detailed mural being destroyed because it was too expensive to move. I like the quote about green lights, Mathew McConaughy's recent memoir is titled Green Lights and he chose the title because he always looks for them.

  2. I wonder about the context of the Tolkien quote.

  3. To answer Anvilcloud, the riddle from Tolkien is from The Hobbit when Bilbo is playing a riddle game with Gollum. And the answer is - eggs! Great photos and thoughts here today, Cloudia. Blessings always!

  5. Thanks so much for saving the mosaic! It was and is beautiful. Loved the quotes and thanks to Martha Jane for giving the puzzle context! I never would have thought of it!

  7. That's a beautiful mosaic. I am so glad you saved it in pictures, even though it couldn't be saved in the flesh. I also love that you give us bits of Pixie every day.

  10. Aloha Cloudia, oh my that is so sad about the lovely mosaic, but it's great that you have a stunning capture of it. Tolkien is one of my magical favorites. As for the green lights I see many too! Enjoy your lovely week ahead and hugs to you and Pixie too. Karen
