Even The Awkward

A L O H A  From

You know who's going
through a lot right now?
Literally everybody!
Be kind.
The Story Is Not Done.
Hang in there.

I’ve made it to 100,
in no small part, because
I have stubbornly refused
to give in to the bad stuff
about aging. Instead, I have
been in a full-on bear hug
with the experience of living. Dick Van Dyke (Almost) 100 Still Having Fun

but doesn't she look strong!!?

Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th is always observed in Honolulu in a big way.
(Photos from this year's parade.) This year is the first time there were no survivors of the attack in town.
Every year I have watched them grow older.  Every year there were fewer and fewer, but the fuss we made over them was bigger and bigger.
Only 12 survivors are alive today on the 84th anniversary of the attack.
None able to travel.

Veterans of WWII
were present and honored.
They are responsible
for the life we have enjoyed.
More on the parade tomorrow.

You do not guide the river;
you learn its music and
let it carry you.
Trust that every step,
even the awkward ones,
is teaching your soul
a new kind of dance.
The map you need is being
drawn by your footsteps.
