Aloha!
How have you been?
I hope the holidays,
and the Winter,
have been treating you kindly.

The president
has been working out at the gym
at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base
every morning.
On Christmas day
he and Michelle
spent time on the base
talking with
our service members.

Everyone seems excited
that the President and his family
are here on the island with us.

Yesterday
the girls stopped for shave ice
right next door to my friend's business!

Everyone has been asked
not to photograph the girls
when they are out by themselves
so I can't show you how much fun
they had sharing shave ice with me.
(Kidding!)

This the the longest
that Comfort Spiral has gone without
daily updates.

My mind seems to be musing
and refuses to generate
worthy daily posts for now.

But I want you to know
that you are in my thoughts,
that Comfort Spiral
WILL resume daily posting,
and that I am wishing you
a peaceful and reflective
Year's End.

Bless You, Friend!

Warm ALOHA, cloudia

  1. Happy resting Cloudia --

That's a big boat at the dock with a huge mast! Is it some commercial sailboat?

That's nice if the islanders and press aren't stalking the Obama girls.

But I see you found another funky girl in the mirror!

Go rest some more for us. We have tunnels around the snow cliffs for our driveways in K.C.

    Aloha, DrumMajor

  2. Good of you all to take care of the Obamas.
Good to see that neshama in the mirror.
Tis the season of blogger down time. Guess we all need some extra time for the reflecting at year's end.

    Shaloa now and always, Cloudia.

  10. ...Oh, my friend, I NEED my daily Hawaii vacation today! It is snowing here, and cold!

I think the "first girls" are so cute. It's nice to think there are children in the White House again!

  13. Oh, THOSE girls.
My blogging has slowed down a bit too, I caught myself thinking that I would be hitting 200 blogs by year's end but I will not make it after all. But it's okay you know, I continue to write 'morning pages' ala Julia Cameron. Pretty soon I will start re-writes on my Nano contest book, I was going to start tonight but I may leave it until 1/1/10. It's a time of finishings, not begininnings.

Understand that you don't have much time for us, now, that you gained celeb status ;-)

    Enjoy a restful week, Hawaii-Cloudia

  16. Rest is good every so often, my dear gal pal.

I was thinking of you this morning as the news guys and gals were discussing the Obama Hawaii vacation.

  18. This year is nearing its end ... everything around me seems to have stopped and at best they are moving in a slow motion! All my blogger friends have gone into hibernation too!
It was quite a refreshing feeling to read this lovely post of yours. Its good to know that US first family is getting some privacy ... its a great gesture, people!
