Reflection

A L O H A !

Look into the eyes of the dogs
" The most miserable possession
a man can have
is the thing he hurt someone else
to get. "

Frank A. Clark

" Anybody
who keeps the ability to see beauty
never grows old. "

Kafka

"It all happened SO FAST! "

the notion,
that you needed permission
to walk in your own
chosen way? "

Well,
it's the butt end of the year.

Take a deep draw-

Then let out a long, slow,
reflective exhale.

In the haze:
 all the
people, incidents,
memories
of the year,
churn like
genies.

Resting up from Christmas,
saving ourselves
for the duty of excess
that IS
New Year's Eve.

Isn't this
an irresistible promontory
upon which to pause?
To take in the view
alone for a moment
under skies about to
turn -

The grand finality
of it all,
must be
the reason why
we drink,
and dress,
dicker,
and dance

I'm SO glad
that you and I
can meet
for play dates like this!

Enjoy this butt end-
just please don't burn
your finger tips.

                                     Warmly, cloudia

  1. Love those dogs. The one with the ears (a Corgi I think) looks so intense and the other one is quite cheerful about being photographed. :) Happy almost new year, Cloudia!

  4. Lovely shots. I don't drink or eat to excess, but love the gentle contemplation of the end of the year instead...

  7. Don't worry Cloudia there will be no 'burning of fingertips here' just quiet reflections on the year that's past and maybe some ideas for the year to come.

  10. Those are intense poker faces the doggies are wearing. Must be scheming a plan to defeat the local evil kitties hahaha. They'll probably fail as cats (at least in the movies) usually prevail.

  35. I didn't buy any fire crackers, but I'll bet our neighbors did. I think it's still going to be a smokey end of the year. I'm very grateful for all the good things I've had this year and it's a good thing my memory is bad because I can forget the bad.
