LIN - Sanity

Cast Your Fate To The Wind by Vince Guaraldi Trio on Grooveshark

“I'm youth,  I'm joy,
I'm a little bird
that has broken out
 of the egg.”

 James Matthew Barrie

" Life is one big road
 with lots of signs.
So when you riding through the ruts,
don't complicate your mind.

Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy.
 Don't bury your thoughts,
 put your vision to reality.
Wake Up and Live! "

Bob Marley

Kiss the Shadow

" Poetry is an echo,
 asking a shadow
 to dance. "

Carl Sandburg

Sounds like the plot
of a bad movie:

In an arena
of pampered millionaires,
spoiled "student athletes"
who never earn a degree,
 of
"Kings" "Legends" and
"Franchise Players"

consider THIS fellow:

An Asian,
the child of immigrants
in a sport with
BUT ONE
(retired) Asian hero,
He played his college ball
at Harvard
(NOT a recruiting ground
for professional athletes).

Jeremy recently slept
on his graduate-student
brother's
sofa.

He was cut

from two NBA teams.

Then the New York Knicks

came calling.

Result:

L I N S A N I T Y !

Jeremy Lin is the first American-born player

 of Taiwanese or Chinese descent

 to play in the NBA.

He has the
MOST POINTS
in his first five games
of ANY PLAYER
in NBA
HISTORY!

 136 points

 in his first five

career starts.

The ancient Greeks,
when the weren't busy
inventing democracy &
Philosophy,
appreciated sport.
Excellence of the Mind,
of the Spirit,
of the Body
was their paramount value.

They had a word for it:
Arete`excellence.

Perhaps you are not
"into" sport.

But magic like this
transcends category.

It is uplifting to see.
(You may see Lin perform below)

Thank YOU for visiting,

                        Fondly, cloudia

  1. It is hard for me to be excited about someones accomplishments bursting across the sky when it was less than 12 hours ago that I even heard of this young man. I wish him well though.

Now that Sandburg bit of a piece is something I've known my life long.
