see with eyes of wholeness,

ReplyDeleteI have so worn myself thin volunteering this week, with very needy clients. I do so love your wise words.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Cottage Country!
I sort of felt the wish to comment that I do realise that it is important to impart morale around one, by seeing the positive, complimenting things that deserve to be complimented, etc, but on the other hand, it has been demonstrated again that most people do not learn/remember things/get better skills very easily the "good way", but rather, (somewhat politically incorrect, I agree), out of fear of punishment and disapproval...and no, this is not an idea created & promoted by the fierce Catholic school nun-teachers..it was demonstrated on live & totally secular students as well ! But, of course, I do count my blessings that I, personally, am NOT in a position of educator or of leadership..so I can allow myself to be nice most of the time, sometimes, I fear, too nice, with occasional undiplomatic outbursts, when I just plain get tired of the sustained effort of being nice and making things as comfortable as possible for others ! (being a habitual people pleaser trying my best these days to undergo a degree of required reform of my "ways", in order to function in a more balanced way at work as well, not only outside of it, where I can allow myself to be as lazy as I actually want to be)
