" A truly great book
 should be read in youth,
again in maturity
 and once more
 in old age,

- as a fine building
should be seen
 by morning light,
at noon
 and by moonlight.  "

Whenever I'm upset,
I've found a panacea
that can instantly
make me feel good;

I remind myself
that Barack Obama
is my President.

For four more years.

The Supreme Court,
the Middle Class,
Students,
Seniors,
and Business
can ALL prosper
with intelligence,
not be hobbled
in the name of
ideology.

It feels like an angry,
dangerous bully
has dissolved in a puddle
like the wicked witch.

Progress DOES Happen!

All we've worked for
our whole lives,
all the unpopular causes
we supported
are in the ascendancy.

Thinking on these things
always improves my mood.

When I was a teen,
angry at the war,
and so much more,
I was told:
"No one will listen
to angry people
with NO positive
contribution to make.
Grow Up!
America:
Love it or Leave it!"

To our opponents
who want to secede
or recede
into wound-licking
and conspiracy theories
I say:

Contribute.
Join in.
Help your community
and our nation.

No one likes
snide, angry
know-it-alls.

Share your hearts,
not insults.

We know what it's like
to feel powerless
and unheard.

Work like we did
for the things you
believe in.

It IS
YOUR country-
BUT it is
OURS
too!

Love it
or leave it!

 What do YOU say?

Thanks for visiting,
Dear Friends!

  1. I say we will see. The president himself admits to being a blue dog, fiscal conservative. In his last term he was willing to use the finances of them at the bottom to get what he wanted from them at the top. Now he is in the end game, his true color will show. Conservative, liberal, or progressive.

As will the others, see the population does not matter anymore, we voted and put people into position on the board, it is not ours now to make the moves but theirs.

If, and I think the whole next four years hinges on this, Reid changes the filibuster rule back to where the one who wants to hold a bill has to stay and talk for as long as that senator wants the hold; then progress in a meaningful way will happen.

If he goes like he did in 2010 and believes McConnell who told him the conservatives would be more gentlemanly about the filibuster then it will be 4 more years of gridlock and an worsening for an already starving lower class ability to survive.

As for secession of some states like Texas or even Michigan...let them go but when they do go, all federal everything within those states stops. No more NASA in Houston, no more Federal border support, no more medicaid, no FEMA, nothing. That would be the last thing I would want America's children to to war over.

It is nice to think that 311 million people could get on the same track but the simple fact that we are still talking about November 6th here on November 24th, shows a deeply divided racist nation that does not want peace within its borders any more than the military industry wants peace in the world.

Nice thoughts but too many people actually are living the Ginsburg quote.

  2. its pretty funny that the states that actually got the number of signatures needed...i think 7 last time i paid attention to it....make up 25% of the federal money being paid out....like that will happen...its just a way to keep us stuck, give someone to blame and our country slips a little closer to the drain...

  3. I'm just glad that the supreme court is save from another conservative puppet from being nominated. Apparently the next four years will see 2 new judges.

  7. I've always disliked that phrase, love it or leave it. I much more prefer, "love it, and strive to make it better."

  13. Hello Dear Pal, husband tells me it's always this way after an election, this when I ask why there is so much snarkiness and sour grapes. I just wish there were no Republican or Democratic politicians, just AMERICAN politicians working together for the good of the country. I'm probably in lalah land but wouldn't that be lovely?

  15. I, too, love the Ginsburg quote. And, I am still pinching myself as a reminder that I can relax, I can feel at peace, I can sleep at night now, I can be absolutely ecstatic that Barack Obama was elected. Over years, I've always been emotionally invested in my candidate winning, but since this election, the relief has been overwhelming! To Jenn, my husband and I absolutely love and admire Canada and Canadians.

  16. I say thoughts of secession should be taken with more humility and less bravado...but then again that requires reflection over reaction...oh well...

  17. I have a friend I'd love for you to talk to. He is so incredibly bitter about the election that there's no talking to him. Sounds almost off kilter. Who would have guessed? He is accusing the president of being a traitor. Seriously? This election brought out the worst in some people.

I agree with this. I read Mitch Albom Tuesday with Morrie a few years ago. Then i read again just the other day. The feeling is totally different. The book mature with age.
