" Life is as dear to a
mute creature as it is to man.
Just as one wants happiness
and fears pain,
just as one wants to live
and not die,
so do other creatures. "
His Holiness,
The Dalai Lama
" Lots of people talk to animals....
Not very many listen, though....
That's the problem. "
Benjamin Hoff
Are YOU plagued by rudeness,
or is it a rare occurrence?
Encountering Rudeness
What do YOU do?
Get Angry? Retaliate?
If you continue on,
do you despise
your "meekness" ?
Do you consider the
possible
mental health breaking point
of the other party,
glad it was words,
or a glance,
not bullets?
Can you leave it
behind, or
does it saddle you
the rest of the day?
I have found myself
remembering my own
youthful rudeness:
"They are behaving
as I once did."
My world was
a rougher place then.
But I've grown soft
and lain the boulder down.
So go on your way
fool that is was me!
Go with my blessing;
Wishes for
what I have found.
Perhaps regarding you thus,
cleanses a smidge
of the world's karmic debt,
my own karmic weight.
Per - Haps
.
We are responsible
for the world we live in.
We notice
what feeds our
preconceptions.
we wear our
style of reality
like a suit,
we consider others
"out of fashion."
What is your fabric
and how is it cut,
my friend on this funny
blog trail?
Healthy confident humility
is not self immolation,
just hell
to the ego.
Burn it up!
You are bigger than that
after all.
fondly, cloudia
"we are responsible
ReplyDeletefor the world we live in." it's the
mid point for always. thanks!
have a great weekend!
People don't listen and don't care until it "it toucn and burn them" !
ReplyDeleteNo one dares push the rude button here. Anger is kept in remission that could explode at any time. It is funny in a way to watch as long as the venting is words not lead. Too much toxicity in lead.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I dress myself in? Mostly silence until something is aimed at my wife, then I am clothed in madness.
Loved the quote about the animals. It's so true.. Sometimes we need to listen. Inspirational indeed dear cloudia .
ReplyDeleteIs white doggie telling owner to get off cell phone?

When I encounter it, i say, "Be Good, Birdman."
ReplyDeletegreat quotes
ReplyDeletei try to forget it and move on. :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I often dwell on it. I know it isn't doing me any good to do so for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty mellow Cloudia, it takes a lot to push my buttons.. life's too short to waste time being angry. Make love not war is my mantra :) Have a beautiful weekend mon amie!
ReplyDeleteI like that word, Per - Haps! Excellent post, much to linger in one's thoughts .... Peace and happiness to you Cloudia!
ReplyDeleteWe rarely perceive someone else's rudeness issues as our problem but if it stays with us.. if we seethe about it through the day, it becomes our own.
ReplyDeletePeople will sometimes be rude or thoughtless; but we do not want to become a burden that we are forced to carry. If we brood over it, it will be so.
ReplyDeleteOther people's rudeness is their choice. How I react is mine.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Thanks! I'll remember these
ReplyDeleteI was once easily upset" how dare you treat me like this" was my usual reaction but as I have got older I now think you don't know me so your reaction may not be directed at me but as a result of something else that has happened to you so I'm more relaxed at how I react to rudeness in other people.
ReplyDeleteMerle..............

ReplyDelete~
Often times, I let rudeness hurt me which I know I shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteOther times, I use my teacher voice and let them know how I feel as politely as I can. Honestly though, I haven't met all that many rude people here in Hawaii.
Beautiful, the poems, all of them are first class, the one by the Wholeness and finished by yourself.
