"Strange as it seems,
no amount of learning
can cure stupidity,
and higher education
positively fortifies it. "
Stephen Vizinczey
one who can't
change his mind
and won't
change the subject. "
Sir Winston Churchill
his argument
by noise and command,
shows that
his reason is weak. "
give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty,
give him water to drink;
22
For so you will
heap coals of fire
on his head,
And the Lord
will reward you."
Bible, Proverbs 25
[ Sounds more satisfying
than arguing! ]
=^..^=
Every issue has two sides to it.
Through discussion & debate
we all arrive at a
better understanding.
That's how it's
Supposed to Work!
Through discussion & debate

better understanding.
That's how it's
Supposed to Work!
I no longer
argue with,
argue with,
- or long listen to -
aggrieved loudmouths
who do not yet
understand this.
They do not care
to learn
possible flaws
in their lack
of reasoning,
but believe
what they often hear,
and hear only
what they believe.
I agreeably refuse
to take notice,
to engage or respond
to their tirade
while remaining
friendly,
and open to
other topics and
activities.
I'm simply
"Over It"
How about YOU?

Don't have enough hair left to pull out, to not be over it.
ReplyDeleteLife can be so more meaningful than to argue with fanatics. They're in their niche, and admit no other.
ReplyDeleteHard to imagine you arguing, but I avoid it too. Life's too short.
ReplyDeleteHawaii has sailing schooners again? Isn't that the inter-island ferry boat?

Soooo over it :) you can't win with some people and it's a waste of precious time and energy trying oui :) It must be wonderful looking out at the many different sailing vessels coming into your harbour.

I love it!
I try and do the same, with difficulty at times. Love that 4 masted ship.
ReplyDeleteEvery issue has two sides to it.
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't!

Most issues these days seem to have a lot more than two sides to me.
ReplyDeleteYup, over it too! I do love the way those first two quotes capture things...and the dreamy images again, sigh...
ReplyDeletethere are def those that it is best just to walk away from...because they are only looking for someone to fight with....

ReplyDeleteHave a nice and restful weekend, Cloudia. Let's hope the vog will blow away. I got quite a lungful last night. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI listen to fanatics. Once. And then quietly tiptoe away if I can. I can't change anyone's mind but my own.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images.
ReplyDeleteI've known too many aggrieved fanatics....
I'm so over it. I don't use energy to argue or listen to fanatics. Time is so precious. Hope you had a happy day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and post.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Thanks VERY much, each of You!
ReplyDeleteThere is a certain friend who I've had to really be patient with during his rants and ravings about the Democratic Party and President Obama. I can listen to arguments, but not when they become offensive and mean. Then I have to tell him that I'm going to have to back away to my happier place, because he's not making me happy.

ReplyDeleteOh me too, I think the older I get the more over it I ten to become too!
ReplyDeleteThere's something noble about a ship to dare be on an ocean.
ReplyDeleteThat quote about higher education does not bode well for me... Love your views about being over it. The quote about arguing with pigs is priceless. Pics are wonderful, too!
