A L O H A From Honolulu!
Thank you to everyone who has expressed care about the fires on my neighbor island of Maui. It affects all of us in this small chain of islands and your care touches our hearts. Now back to Renewal:
My muse, a wanderer
from the days of old
Seeks refuge here, where
pleasure reigns supreme
And all is joy and mirth,
and none is old,
No care nor sorrow mars
the hours serene.
Like the moon,
come out from
behind the clouds!
Shine!

Back in the day, we
taxi drivers used to say:
"Don't take it personal."
Sometimes,
you pick up people
who bring along
their own gray cloud.
Don't carry their mood
after you have
dropped them off.
Just keep driving,
and don't take it personal.
This moment is fine.

to unfold at their own speed
rather than jumping in with
your habitual response.

Mahalo for putting the donation info here. My heart breaks for all of those workers who've made my stays on Maui so nice. (Yep, already sent my donation to that place. Besides celebrities, Obama's note to Maui suggested that site.) Hope Oahu can handle the stranded visitors. Losing so much life and history is hard to comprehend. Stay safe! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI did not know the extent of fire in your nearby island. Hope all is well with you. The revival words refresh my day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the donation information. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
ReplyDeleteThanks friends

ReplyDeletePrayers for the people of Maui!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures of the sky.
Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
It is so sad to read. Flooding in Ottawa, fires on Maui. I am so sorry. I know it affects all of you, just like the fires here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are well Cloudia. Very sad with all these world catastrophes. Hugs

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the donation information and letting us know that you and Pixie are safe. I hope that there will be a speedy recovery for Maui.
ReplyDeleteI assume no firestorm coming down the mountain could get to where you are.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful skies you captured. Let' hope and pray for Maui's complete recovery and thanks for the donation info.
ReplyDeleteLovely moon photo and accompanying quote!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay!
ReplyDeleteI’m still trying to come to grips with all this. It’s all so horrific. But yes, definitely… I’m sending in my donation for our Maui neighbors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies.
ReplyDeleteI like that moon shot very much. Can´t nothing but love Pixie.
