Sometimes It IS Gold

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Too many people miss
the silver lining because
they're expecting gold.
Maurice Sendak

Honolulu Back Streets

Grieving the people you have loved is part and parcel of growing old and it takes a lot of will power and keeping a constant check on your thoughts to stay positive.
    Nicky Melville

 Friends are as companions
on a journey,  who ought to
aid each other
to persevere in the road
to a happier life.
     Pythagoras

Shell Ginger Embraced by Red Ti

Things that were
hard to bear are
sweet to remember.
Seneca

Yet in the heart a flicker gleams,
Sparks of hope the distant dream.
At last from depths of darkest night,
Ariseth dawn with healing light.

Let us unite with hearts aflame,
To mend the world and heal its pain.
With kindness sown, with empathy’s grace
We’ll build together a
Much better place.

  8. Oh my goodness, I had to enlarge the photo of Honolulu back streets to see it wasn't a collage, but actually different roofs and terrain. Loved the Sendak quote, and Pythagoras and your own poem, thanks.

  9. Love your poem under the shot of the magnificent Pixie. I also love the real gold in the skies. No silver linings there, just solid gold in the heavens.

  11. Da back streets have mountains! Yep, I voted, correctly, with Kansas early voting days. It's nice to go vote when it's not crowded and in the middle of the day and in the middle of the week. Kansas already had a prez primary. Our August 6 vote is for senators and other regional folks. And our blasted super conservative state actually voted to keep abortion rights. A nice Democrat female gov in the middle of it all! Make Pixie's vote count! Get her registered cuz I think she's old enough, eh? Linda in Kansas
