Club Hubba Hubba, Hotel St. Honolulu
When I was little, riding in the back, we often passed a neon sign of a woman lounging in a giant champagne glass. When I was VERY little, her leg even kicked through the magic of neon.
My secret was that I wanted to grow up to BE that woman!
You can read about my adventures in "Show Business" in my semi-autobiographical novel "Aloha Where You Like Go? Driving from Survival to Satisfaction in a Honolulu Taxi"
The book cover at the top right corner of this blog, is a link to the Kindle Ebook version! Read it on the beach. Warmly, Your Painted Lady - cloudia

No beach available, had to read it on the concrete of my front porch. Of course I had to read it in my smoking spot, A story of what one must do to become a part of a completely new and different place.

I can totally recommend it.. was a fabulous read. When's the next book coming out Cloudia?
Working on King's Mr. Mercedes right now.
i wanted to be a pole dancer, myself. ;)
Growing up in the country and going to school in a small town, I never saw neon until I was probably in my teens.
Mark Twain might have said a place like that would be the sort you'd look at what's going on with your hands over your eyes--- but peeking through your fingers.
Very interested in the novel - will look it up . . . :) Eddie x
I just gotta say it: You are such awesome friends! Thanks, Dears 💜
The novel is awesome!! So glad you achieved your naughtiest childhood dreams!
You are an evil temptress. And I will succumb.
It's nice to be a little wicked. I learned pole dancing.
In China they love neons, in the evening everything just changes.
Greetings,
Filip
Interesting! I'll buy it even though English is not my first language. Kisses and compliments.
Erika from Italy.
:))))
I already read your cool book, silly!
The spirit of your being is still kicking the leg up high out of the champagne glass! Is that neon sign and show still in Honolulu? Please find the show and review of naked men for my next trip, but those authentically trained male hula dancers are HOT. Interesting to learn that the guys did the hula dancing first.
Rowdy at heart, rowdy for real. DrumMajor
I love that story. Makes me think of my daughter. She wanted to be the lady in red in the Irish dance musical Lord of the Dance for years. Whenever we went shoe shopping, she had to try on whatever stilettoes were there!
