Sun Touch

A L O H A  From
H O N O L U L U

The sun just touched
the morning;
the morning, happy thing,
supposed that he had
come to dwell, and
life would all be spring.
Emily Dickinson

We don’t realize how
deeply we crave calm
until the world stops roaring
and we can again hear
the birds and
our own heartbeat.

Such mornings remind us
that endurance has beauty —
that peace is not
absence of storms but
the quiet that follows.

Dare to be privately
happy my dear, sing to the silence, joy will appear. Close your door, till daylight bends, and have a small feast with invisible friends. Let candles wink at your secret delight, a quiet rebellion dressed in light. No need to boast, conceal the tune your heart may waltz with the hidden moon.

The wire space for the bird looks to be a tight fit.

...we are a stretch when the sun isn't touching us.
