For a brief
and holy second,
our entire restless town
is being held
in a gentle,
shimmering embrace!
Cupped hands, offering
Whose are they
Painted on the school wall,
holding morning light?
The teacher arrives
Whose are they
Painted on the school wall,
holding morning light?
The teacher arrives
at the classroom door
softly unlocking the day.
softly unlocking the day.

Gecko Without a Tail
He slipped the grip of danger—
left his tail behind,
twitching like a tiny decoy, and
Survived to skitter up the leaf.
Survived to skitter up the leaf.
He's feeling oddly clumsy,
proud yet mortified
Alive!—what a triumph.
But oh, the wounded vanity!
But oh, the wounded vanity!
He's really not himself.
How naked he feels,
waiting for it
to grow back.
Pixie
In her gaze,
the world grows still,
A shimmer born
of moonlit will.
She loves as stars love—
soft, aloof,
Yet curls at dusk
beneath my roof.

I love geckos. I wonder how long it takes for the tail to grow back.
Pixie would know about close brushes with danger since she has 9 lives. Great poems/sayings today from Cloudia and Pixie.
Love your rainbows always. I wonder how much rain must also fall before they appear. Some is falling here now, before dawn. Hi and pats to Pixie, who is wondering what’’s going on, perhaps.
