Feel

A L O H A From Honolulu!

If growing up means it would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree, I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me! J.M. Barrie

Sometimes falling flat on
your face allows you to
see things from a totally
different perspective. Linda Poindexter

We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public. Bryan White

You don’t need to be
the tide to rise and fall, you don’t have to be a wave to touch the shore; just be a little sand-grain and feel them all Munia Khan

In It As The Butterfly

A L O H A From Honolulu!

It is eternity now.
I am in the midst of it.
It is about me in the sunshine;
I am in it as the butterfly
in the light-laden air.
Nothing has to come;
it is now. Now
is eternity; now is
the immortal life. Richard Jefferies

The art of art,
the glory of expression
 and the sunshine of the
light of letters
is simplicity.
 Walt Whitman

Collaboration is the
opposite
of capitulation

The soul must uphold itself
like the sun. Let us
labour to make the heart
grow larger as we become older,
as the spreading oak
gives more shelter. Richard Jefferies

between any two things.

Honolulu 1908

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Never forget that
feeling fantastic is a
massive magnet for
summoning more magic.
  Curtis Tyrone Jones

In 1907, Honolulu High School
was renamed for President William McKinley.
And in 1908 the school was moved to this
new building facing Thomas Square.

Upon completion of a newer
(and current) facility
further towards Diamond Head on King St,
McKinley HS moved there in 1923.

This building became
Linekona Elementary School.
Linekona is Hawaiian For "Lincoln"
These were Territorial days, and the
US Territorial government & resident
Americans solidified their cultural and
political connections to the USA.

This is an example of
Romanesque architecture,
Colonial Revival architecture,
Romanesque Revival architecture.
Interestingly, the apparent stone
face is actually cunningly worked
cement!

The Road To Success
is dotted with many
tempting parking spaces.

I waved to you outside
but then I realized it

Not Embarrassed to Say

A L O H A From Honolulu!

The ideals which have

always

shone before me and

filled me with joy are

goodness, beauty, and

truth.

Albert Einstein

New ideas are sometimes

found in the most

granular details of a problem

where few others bother to look.

             Nate Silver

I went to an outdoor

restaurant for  lunch.

Total disaster.

Poured with rain.

Took me 2 hours to

finish my soup!

Chick & Mother

Be as a bird perched

on a frail branch that she

feels bending beneath her,

still she sings away

all the same, knowing

she has wings.

Victor Hugo

The satisfactions

of agreement are

immediate as sugar

a melting of the

granular, a syrup

that lingers, shared

not singular.

Many prefer it.

to fill the void,

an old one learns

to live with it.

The Creator made humans

able to walk and talk,

to see and hear ... to

do everything.

But the Creator

wasn't satisfied.

- Finally the Creator

made humans laugh,

and when they laughed

and laughed, the

Creator said,

"Now you are fit to live."

condemn and complain

and most fools do.
