Not Thin Within

A L O H A  From

H O N O L U L U

Remember to go outside everyday and walk on the Earth and look around at the beauty – the birds, the trees, the flowers blooming. Put your mind at ease by remembering the cycles of Nature, which are endless and renewing constantly. We are part of that Nature – and are also renewing. Don’t lose faith in that which is timeless-your heart, soul and nature. We are all related Mitakuye Oyasin

Hawaiian Monk Seal

The Hawaiian monk seal (Neomonachus schauinslandi) is an endangered, earless seal species endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, making it one of the world’s rarest marine mammals and the only seal found in the tropics. Adult seals typically measure 6–7.5 feet in length, weigh 400–600 pounds, and are recognized for their sleek gray coats and solitary or small-group behavior. With a population of only about 1,400 individuals, Hawaiian monk seals face threats from habitat loss, entanglement, disease, and human disturbance and are protected by federal and state laws. The species plays a vital role in the local ecosystem but relies on ongoing conservation efforts for survival.

Show up! Be enthusiastic!
Put some energy into the life you're living now!
How will anyone ever be impressed by your star-like quality if you're waiting to cultivate that quality until you become a star?
Marianne Williamson

We judge too quickly.

Blink—we bind

Our thoughts in chains

Thick, unkind.

Swift decree,

and label cast,

We fail to see

the living past.

For people wear

a thousand hues,

With many reasons

for their views.

Look deeper then

Beyond the skin,

Where complex truths

Of lives begin.

Resist the trap

Of witty lines,

Seek the heart

That quietly shines.

No soul is flat

No story thin—

Once we look

Through love within.

Judgment is thin

True vision wide,

In open hearts

May we abide.

There is something to be said about busyness although I would classify it as keeping active in ways that are meaningful to each person.

One time on a beach in Kauaii, I saw a resting monk seal. Wonderful creature!

I had to look up "Mitakuye Oyasin" and found it's meaning is also what that phrase said, we are all related. From monk seal to Pixie to you and me. Yes.

I love being outside with nature. Even if I can't get out, I still spend time on my balcony listening to the birds and watching the world go by.
