As we work to

Where Are They Now:
The Checkered Demon is a fictional character from the 1960s underground comix movement, created by artist S. Clay Wilson. A shirtless, red-skinned demon in checkered pants, the character is emblematic of the transgressive nature of underground comics.
Gardenia taitensis 'Heaven Scent'
is a specific cultivar of the Tahiti Gardenia known for its intensely
fragrant, large, and often
double, creamy-white flowers.
A tropical evergreen shrub.
In a season of sadness
and pain
When the world seems
too dark
Then be kind to those in grief.
Lend them your helping hand.
Cheer them gently
on their way.
Let your words
be sweet and few;
Your voice soft, low and true.
Keep your touch tender
to comfort them.
Respecting each one's space.
But don't lose
your own joy
Though you walk with
those who mourn
For the world's still
a beautiful place.
Just keep your heart
and mind
Uplifted to the light
our source.
Let the sunshine of that
Flow from your being
in spite of the sorrow
that surrounds.
It's a privilege to help
those who are sad
In the time of their humanity.
It's not easy to
balance grief and joy.
But it's important to try.
Find ways to keep
your joy alive.

Love your poem today. Does Pixie ever hang out with the Checkered Demon, who seems to have retired to Hawaii?
Hello Cloudia,
Beautiful photos, the gardenias do have a lovely scent.
Your poem is perfect, thanks for sharing.
Take care, have a great day!
As always soothing the brain.
Nice poem by you under the Pixie Pic.
...always!
Acknowledging and sharing our feelin
Sorry cut off! Good to have all feelings and share them!
Yours is the second blog today that's mentioned kindness, which I am taking for my mantra of the day.
Pixie is good company.
Beautiful and touching poem Pixie!
Wise words, Cloudia!
One of the reasons I like flying Air Tahiti is because the plane smells like gardenia and all passengers recieve a fresh Tahitian gardenia flower.
I'll continue praying for you and your husband.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. -Psalm 34:18
Beautiful and touching poem, Cloudia. Blessings!
This is a beautiful poem you've written. As a matter of fact, I have two good friends who just lost their siblings and your poem certainly touches me deeply.
