You are not the darkness

you endured.

You are the light that

refused to surrender.

Scientists recently taught rats to

drive tiny cars around the lab floor.

They found that driving

relaxed the rats.

Sure they're relaxed,

no traffic!

Horizons Bathed In Light

A L O H A From Honolulu!

With eyes aglow and spirit right,
Chase horizons bathed in light.
For beauty blooms

where hearts take flight,
Render worries out of sight. -

Manu O Ku - White Tern

- So lift your gaze beyond the smear,
The open road's so vast and clear.
Wind-kissed branches, sunlit grace,
Seat of beauty for the feathered race. -

- Life's not blemished

by a dim window pane,

There are miles to chase

 Sun and moon to gain.-

Hate leads to happiness

in only one way.

Through the overcoming

of it in yourself.

That is how you turn

Being With The Mystery

A L O H A From Honolulu!

We live in an era where people

demonize rather than engage

their opponents, content to bludgeon

critics rather than win them over.

Our adversaries are not our enemies;

the law is not a political weapon,

objective truths do exist;

fair process is essential

in civilized society.

      Preet Bihara

Christian, Jew, Muslim, shaman,

Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain,

river, each has a secret way of

being with the mystery, unique

and not to be judged
Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Cultivating a close, warm-hearted

feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears

or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to

cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the ultimate source of

success in life. Dalai Lama

The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love, whether we call it friendship or family or romance, is the work of mirroring and magnifying each other's light. Gentle work. Steadfast work. Life-saving work in those moments when life and shame and sorrow occlude our own light from our view, but there is still a clear-eyed loving person to beam it back. In our best moments, we are that person for another.

That twinkle bright,
My purrfect friend
You furry delight.
Head a-tilt
Your curious pose,
Our friendship is
A sweet smelling rose.

The Practice

A L O H A From Honolulu!

The practice of staying present

will heal you. Obsessing about

how the future will turn out

creates anxiety. Replaying broken

scenarios from the past

causes anger or sadness.

Stay here, in the moment.

Sylvester McNutt III

Worry is the most ancient scam. It steals everything while

giving nothing. It is an illusion

and a trick enslaving our joy

and wasting our hours.

Break the optical illusion.

Be here and now.

Look around you.

Worry is mental slavery.

Shift your view. Remind yourself

to take your freedom.

Do it every day!
