Over-Surge Saturday

 A   L   O   H   A  !

We owe more

to our illusions than

to our knowledge.

         Lafcadio Hearn

I felt very still

and empty, the way

the eye of a tornado

must feel, moving dully

along in the middle of

the surrounding hullabaloo.

          Sylvia Plath

There's not a word yet,

for old friends

who've just met.

The artist's job is

to despair-

      Woody Allen

Dreaming Of Fish

Beyond the edge

of the world

there’s a space where

emptiness and substance

neatly overlap, where

past and future form a

continuous, endless loop.

And, hovering about,

there are signs no one

has ever read, chords

no one has ever heard.

Haruki Murakami

"Surge capacity is a collection of adaptive systems — mental and physical — that humans draw on for short-term survival in acutely stressful situations, such as natural disasters. But natural disasters occur over a short period, even if recovery is long. Pandemics are different — the disaster itself stretches out indefinitely.
“The pandemic has demonstrated both what we can do with surge capacity and the limits of surge capacity,” says Masten. When it’s depleted, it has to be renewed. But what happens when you struggle to renew it because the emergency phase has now become chronic?"

That which has always

everywhere, is almost

certain to be false.

Our mind is capable

Source Of Light

 A   L   O   H   A  !

It's not because

things are difficult

that we dare not,

 it's because we

dare not that

things are difficult.

A smile is the

light in your window

that tells others that

there is a caring,

 sharing person inside.

Denis Waitley

We smile with our eyes too.

Good thing in a time

of masks!

Our gait, attentiveness,

the way we face and

incline our body,

what we carry

in the heart:

These are our smiles

right now, and always.

We may be six feet apart,

but facing one another

with new eyes.

Mouths covered,

Eyes wide open.

We can still say:

"Good Morning"

The first thing

you have to identify

when you are in

the dark is light.

Light in your mind

is truth.

Light in your heart

is knowledge.

Light in your soul

is wisdom.

Light in your life is God.
