Oh October!

A  L  O  H  A !

"Our days are happier when
we give people a bit of
our heart rather than a
piece of our mind."

           Mt. Burdell, Novato CA

“Climb the mountains and
get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow
into you as sunshine
flows into trees.
The winds will blow
their own freshness
into you, and the
storms their energy, while
cares will drop away
from you like the
leaves of Autumn.”

then our habits make us.

our deepest happiness is

Oh how nice
to begin to feel
At  Home.

A new place
is a blank place.

All one's memories
accomplishments
friends
seem left behind.

On a foggy rainy last
November 1st night
we landed here from
Hawaii heat & sun.

Now I know the birds,
and have met in books
the pioneers who gave
this place it's street names
and history.

Miwok, Spanish,
New Englanders;
From Switzerland,
and the Azores
they came.
Now I'm here too,
as Place & I
affect each other.

Wine is ripening on the vines.
Roses bloom in my garden.

This may just work out.

What am I talking about?!
Welcome to my Home.

Another Beautiful Day in Marin!

Our Town Novato

is unaware.”

Novato California's

Northwestern Pacific Railroad
comes to Town!
[and photo at top]

This first train depot was  the beginning
of  “New Town”  Novato.
Many commercial buildings were built
along Grant Ave. near the station. *

[Previously the town center was closer to the Novato Creek
where the weekly schooner brought visitors in need of
our legendary healthful climate, and took Novato's excellent
produce down to San Francisco to feed the City.]
