A candle is a small thing.
But one candle can light another.
And see how its own light increases,
as a candle gives its flame to the other.

You
are such a light.

Present

A L O H A !

Sometimes merely stopping
and regaining your equilibrium
is the most important job
right now,

To simply be present
and authentic
with those present.

Sub-Tropical Pacific Weather

A L O H A !
Art & Auto Repair:
Honolulu's Kaka'ako Neighborhood.

Always sights to amaze or appall.
I just drink it all in!

Who remembers the sweet little Theater? Now a dive shop with a tall new neighbor abuilding.

We had thunderstorms with lightning, and flooded streets last night. Today, as above, the hungover clouds cling to the mountains. Tropical weather. All magnificent! Even our humidity is imported from Tahiti 🌴

Glad you walked along today!

Honolulu New, Old, Forever

A  L  O  H  A !
Bless the people
who acquire and use
real practical skills
to build and keep
our society running!

Oahu has always been
"The Gathering Place"
Since Monarchy days.
Always changing,
always thronged with
both native born,
newcomer,
and visitor.
Crossroads of the Pacific!

We have urban Honolulu.
We also have farms and ranches.

We live close with our
history and island ethos.
The way we treat one another
is the real pull.
No place is like this place.
This is the place,
my place.
Welcome

A  L  O  H  A !

All real works of art
look as though they
were done in joy.
           Robert Henri

One's pain is one's own creation.
There is a Tibetan expression that
one should treat such things as if
they were wind behind one's ear.
In other words, just brush it aside.
                    Dalai Lama

If you make an effort to be grateful right now, to notice and dwell on the good stuff, to actually say "thank you" internally as you go along, it will only feel weird for a while. Eventually it takes on a life and rhythm of it's own that can really draw you in as long as you wish to maintain it. Sort of a 'Comfort Spiral.' And one good thing is, that it prevents the tiny black weeds from growing up and choking your joy. Cloudia
