Call For The Grandest

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Call for the grandest
of all earthly spectacles,
what is that? It is
the sun going to his rest.
Thomas de Quincey

Looking back over the years,
sure there are things I
would do differently.
But that's different from regret
because I'm glad I do see
those situations & people
differently now. It's called
growth and perspective.
And it also makes me patient
with others. Because sometimes
they just don't see it yet.
But they will get there
as I have, gratefully.

The best people don't
try to instruct you. They
just invite you to walk
along if you like. And
there's something so
interesting about them that
you do want to walk

with them a while. . .

If you walk the footsteps
of a stranger, you'll learn
things you never knew
you never knew
Walt Disney

October Visitors

A L O H A From Honolulu!

We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own. Ben Sweetland

In his face there came to be a
brooding peace that is seen
most often in the faces of the
very sorrowful or the very wise.
But still he wandered through
the streets of the town,
always silent and alone. Carson McCullers

Joy Sips

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Perfect happiness is
a beautiful sunset,
the giggle of a grandchild,
the first snowfall.
It's the little things that
make happy moments,
not the grand events. Joy
comes in sips, not gulps.

Little Things Thursday

I Like Thursday

Little tendrils of the heart
Curling out and groping,
Seeking little things to hold,
Wiggling and hoping.

Little tendrils, little tendrils,
innocent and plucky,
I pray that you are careful
And I hope that
you are lucky.

If you feel lost, disappointed,
hesitant, or weak,
return to yourself, to
who you are, here and now
and when you get there,
you will discover yourself, like

even in a muddy pond,
beautiful and strong.

Many True Errors

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Science has been built
upon many errors; but
they are errors which it
was good to fall into,
for they led to the truth.
