What Three Words?

A   L   O   H   A   !
Play the song - really goes with the picture
" Silly cowboy,
 trucks are for girls! "
bumper sticker

" It aint the clothes
 that make the cowgirl,
it's the attitude and heart. "

Cowgirl Wisdom

" The day you were born
was the day that God decided
that the world could not exist
without you. "

Rabbi Nachman.

Like many others do,
we Hawaii folk get most of our supplies
out of the big trailers usually pulled by
trucks (lorrys)
but ours travel between the islands
 onboard barges like this one!

Imagine!

You & I have been

arrested!

We are handcuffed

together

in the back of

a police car.

What would YOU

say?

Use only 3 Words -

GO!

Right There - Don't Compare

A   L   O   H   A  !
Don't compare your
middle
 with somebody else's
beginning.

Rarely can we see
 those ahead of us
 on the path,
up around the bend
from glen to glen.

So find your footing
right there.
And don't
compare -

 - Your middle
 with somebody else's
 beginning. . .

 But love, to some extent,

protects you from age."

but in yourself -
and thus make yourself
indispensable."

Gide

 The corn is turning brown,
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down. "

Sun for Your Face

A   L   O   H   A !
Here comes the Sun by any song in the world on Grooveshark
" To love and be loved
is to feel the sun
 from both sides. "

David Viscott

"Constant kindness

  can accomplish much.

As the sun makes ice melt,

    kindness causes

   misunderstanding, mistrust,

   and hostility

  to evaporate."

 Albert Schweitzer

" Laughter is the sun

 that drives winter

 from the human face."

Victor Hugo

" Science cannot solve
the ultimate mystery of nature.
And that is because,
we ourselves are part of nature
and therefore part
of the mystery
that we are trying
to solve. "

Max Planck

The infinitely little
 have a pride
infinitely great."

Voltaire

" He was like a cock
who thought the sun
had risen to hear
 him crow. "

George Eliot

Your Visit
BRIGHTENS my day

Gravity 3D = OMG

A  L  O  H  A !
The Thrill Is Gone by B.B. King on Grooveshark

" Enjoyment of the landscape

 is a thrill. "

David Hockney

" The creative habit
 is like a drug.
 The particular obsession
 changes,
 but the excitement,
 the thrill
of your creation
 lasts. "

Henry Moore

" The thrill
of coming home
has never changed. "

Guy Pearce

Being a film snob
I rarely see
spectaculars;
But an old pal
wanted to see
G R A V I T Y
in 3D.

My friend is a
visual artist,
so his response
would be interesting
even if the film
struck me as
an empty magic trick.

Grumpy me
didn't want to
wear the 3-D glasses
over my eye glasses.
but they were light
and comfortable.

Previews
were of upcoming
3D films.

When the Hobbit's forrest
exploded around me,
snow falling,
everything wondrously
yet subtly
three dimensional,
let's just say that
I was hooked,
even before one of the
birds flew past me.

I settled in for
technological thrill
of the species
"Planetarius"
and from the first scene
WAS thrilled
by the visual and moral
wonder of
leaving our insular
little Earth.

The acting
was superb.

This was more than
a visual display.

A Thrill-a-second
true heroes adventure!

I won't spoil it.

If you are a prig like me,
drop your reserve
and go see this film.

What tale
(film, TV, Book, myth, project, or poet)
is thrilling YOU
at the moment?

Do share in comments.

Poetry Game - Movies & Songs

A  L  O  H  A !
"Most people ignore most poetry
 because
most poetry ignores most people."

 Adrian Mitchell

" Let yourself

become

living poetry. "

Rumi

" Poetry is
 a big space
and I love it. "

Selima Hill

<3 i="">

Some of our friends
write poetry
informed by
literature, the bible,
deep reading & study.

Others of us (like me)
have a frame of reference
involving television
and movies.

I have "written" a poem
every line of which
is the title of a song
(I've made them links
so you can click on the line
and hear the song)

Wild card:
One line may be
a line from a film.

My line #2
is from Woody Allen's
Annie Hall

So without furthur ado-

How is this your buisiness?

Now YOU try it!
then link here,
or link us to your
poetry cliques.

But not before
you give us a "shout"
in Comments.
(or is it a comment in shouts?)
