Who wants to put down the book, turn off the media, and sit quietly?

I never do, even though the benefits of meditation in my life are indisputable.

Don't worry; I'm not selling a "brand" or a "right way."

I do know that it has been extremely valuable for me to find some way to rest and to BE in the moment. I have also found that an easy practice is more productive than a difficult one. It is a recess, not a labor camp - but that's just my experience.

Daily REIKI self-treatment has been a simple brilliant way for me to make a daily habit of stillness and peace. The resulting insight, physical improvements, and better social functioning which I have experienced have been very gentle yet profound. All in the nature of an "Aha" that makes the difficult suddenly, obviously simpler.

Yale University researchers using MRI images of volunteers' brains discovered recently that the brains of regular meditators were clearly different than those of their non-meditating peers: having thicker grey matter in the cerebral cortex.

So turn off, tune out, and drop in to the world behind your heat and eyes.

That is where you will find the treasure, and you will return to the mundane with a new appreciation and zest for life, yourself, & others.

It couldn't hurt!

Aloha, Cloudia

Truth generates mighty power if we stick to it. But at the same time we have to be humble and non-violence.

Once again we are on the same wave length...today's offering at TWM was written and posted before I came here.

I do daily self Reiki treatments but really don't spend long enough. I must take time out to enjoy the stillness - thanks for the reminder my friend. x

That looks like a look at Diamond Head I never saw -- across a lagoon -- in 1953 or 1955. The place has changed so much that I sometimes look at travel sites and see things that was not even there then.

Thanks for visiting The Hamlet of Gordon.

I have found the best way to meditate is to walk and then to bring the attitude into what I do. If I stay still, I feel like I should be doing something. Meditation for Manics!

Meditate is something I forget to do too often. When I make it a daily habit I am far less stressed. When forget, I feel inflammation throughout my entire being. An important reminder. Thank you. Aloha, Cloudia.

I sooo miss Hawaii. Through the magic of blogging, I can get my Hawaii fix through your lovely site.
In the past, I have been able to visit Hawaii 3 times. It is my deepest hope that I will return again and again and again in the future.
Thanks for sharing the most beautiful place on earth with us.

Lovely lagoon, who wouldn't be quite content to be in the moment there! And, what a great shot of the kitty. Love how she's got one tail up and one leg down, and a face floating in the middle - almost a Cheshire cat illusion.

Great advice, Cloudia. I've been tuning out a lot this weekend, as a means of regrouping and renewing before another week of work. Aloha!

Pirate Kitty looks tough today. Does he get into any trouble in the neighborhood? (I remember his fall into the water...maybe he was partying too much.) DrumMajor
