What a neat tree. Is that a jacaranda? It looks like a crepe myrtle. It has bluie-purplelie baby peacocks sitting all over the tops of the tree! How can it do all of that with so few leaves? DrumMajor

Your jacaranda looks different from the ones I know. The flowers are in bigger clusters but the leaves are the same! Lovely photos!

So this is a jacaranda! I read a book which was titled :" The Jacaranda Tree" by H.E.Bates. It's about the second worldwar.

I didn't know there was a tree called Jacaranda. The Beatles used to frequent a club in Liverpool called the Jacaranda, which was owned by their first manager. You can read about it here

Love your jacaranda pictures, Cloudia. The Hawaiian version is a little different from its California cousin. I love the trees when they bloom, and hate them when they drop their sticky, stinky dead blossoms all over my backyard, but such is the cycle of life...

Is that what it is? My husband and I were just looking at some the other day and wondering what they were.
