God Speed John Glenn

A  L  O  H  A !
"On February 20, 1962,
Glenn flew the Friendship 7
mission and became the
first American to orbit the Earth
and the fifth person in space,
after cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin and
Gherman Titov and the
sub-orbital flights of Mercury
astronauts Alan Shepard
and Gus Grissom. "

I was 8.
We watched it in school.
The future was happening
and we were to be part of it!
JFK was US President.
I had a Mercury Capsule
pencil sharpener.

“We are our own dragons
and our own heroes.
We must rescue ourselves
from ourselves.”
Peter S. Beagle

Goodbye  Geese
“Heroes know that things
must happen when it is
time for them to happen.
A quest may not simply
be abandoned; unicorns
may go unrescued for
a long time, but
not forever; a happy
ending cannot come
in the middle
of the story.”
    Peter S. Beagle

Thank You
                  Warmly, cloudia

An extraordinary man. I've shared an editorial cartoon over to your Facebook wall that pays tribute to him.

That bird is quite a sight.
