Rehabilitation of Humility

A L O H A From Honolulu!

If your heart is not broad
enough to care for everyone
in a conflict, then you
are not yet a peacemaker.

Thank you for caring.
But don't stop growing
your understanding compassion!
      Cloudia Charters

In my youth, a wondrous sight,
Signs that flickered, day and night:
"Dancing Nightly!" bold and bright,
A mystery that filled me with delight!

When I was a child
It was common to see signs:
Dancing Nightly.

I was too young to go inside
these adult places after bedtime
to see the ubiquitous beings.

They must be BIG, I mused,
and something to see,
especially when they danced!

Did they also do tricks?
Tell Jokes? or did they just dance?
Over the years, their numbers
dwindled. I never see
their signs anymore.

So here's to the vanished breed:
The Dancing Nightly.
They are surely missed.

The wise one is dedicated
to not harming people-
even evil people. When no one hurts another, All will eventually
return to the good. Tao Te Ching,
Chapter 60   Translated by John R. Mabry

Snap judgments
— about people or ideas —
are fueled by arrogance and conceit.
They create blind spots
and missed opportunities.
Good ideas and interesting ways to
accomplish goals in public life
exist all over the place if you
have the will, the curiosity, and
the humility to find them.

Love You,
Pixie & Cloudia

I asked META's Artificial Intelligence
to generate an image for me
with this prompt:
"A happy calico cat under a palm tree"
Pretty Nice I Think!
What do YOU think?

The image from the artificial intelligence is very beautiful, but it cannot reach the tenderness and sweetness of the pixie! Have a nice day Clοudia🌸!

Tao Te Ching and you are right. The AI cat is nice enough - but not a patch on Pixie.

Pixie requires a good nap.

...I like the real deal best.

I miss the flickering lights too. There used to be a neon gallery here which I loved going to. Thanks, Cloudia. ;-)

I love that peacemakers must look at all sides of a conflict compassionately. Will borrow the first quote from you, if I may. With college campuses having their own demonstrations against wars, but siding with one side or another, it is so important to consider the humanity of each person rather than the politics.

We so need to show each other grace and humility, exactly as Jesus taught us to.
Blessings, Cloudia!

Thank you so much my dear friends! Your comments and visits mean a lot to us. And yes, you may use my quotes or poetry. Please attach my name as author. Thank you so much!❤️🌿🕊️

Great sentiments in the quotes today, and the AI clone cannot compare with the beauty of the real, authentic, furry, breathing Pixie cat.

Snap judgments are difficult to avoid, but sometimes I also do the opposite and dither too long.

"What do YOU think?"
It's a thousand times better than the jokes it tried to create.

"The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel came to my mind with that sign...
Now I have to go to YouTube ;-)

Snap judgements do cause trouble. Sometimes Mom is quick to judge but then in a short amount of time she realizes she was all wrong. As long as you don't act on it and give your mind time to sort through, all can still be good. Great quotes as always.
