Ear Worm

A L O H A !

There is a sound

in my inner ear.

It's lingered there

since the 1960s.

As a musician,

a player of flutes,

I think it means something

that it echoes

down the hallways

of my brain and

being.

I hunted for the sound

in recent years.

Google searches,

Sixties radio promos.

Nada- Zilch-

Last Christmas

I heard a hint of it

on our local cable TV

system;

But I missed the 

credit!

You already knew that,

didn't you?

But this past year,

from November (!)

I glued myself

to the Holiday Music Channel.

I enjoy holiday music,

but this was MORE!

This was 

D E T E R  M I N A T I O N !

Then, a little bird,

a familiar note

(not 

what I was looking for

 but-)

Whispered a name:

" Bert Kaempfert "

Now my European

friends of a 

certain age :)

are smiling.

A little research

on You Tube

and Grooveshark

and the quarry

of a years-long

hunt

was mine!

That song you 

so cavalierly 

passed over at top,

" Swinging Safari "

is the Great

Motherload

E A R  W O R M !

Fascinating info LINK

I'v listened to it over,

and over.

Perhaps you will

also.

But one listen

and it will probably

infect your 

Mind's Ear.

So you've been

warned;

but it's a 

pleasurable infection.

And who knows?

You may begin

to play the flute

for sheer joy - 

bringing countless

hours,

decades of years

of pleasure,

transmitting

Ear Worms

to others!

Riding the Wind

A  L  O  H  A !

Oahu has been enjoying 

wintry windy wet

WEATHER!

After all the recent

change, shock,

passings, holidays. . . 

It's kinda nice

to cozy up

indoors,

listen to the 

winds,

see the rains. . . 

Perhaps a

golden sunset,

 a sudden gap

in the clouds

as they

rush over us. . . 

Only got up 

to the mid 70s f

today.

Zipped out

on my scooter

for a quick

grocery raid.

Riding on two wheels

demands total 

attention

to EVERYTHING.

Wind gusts

make it more-so

to a factor of 

10.

When I entered

the H-1 

to go to the 

very next exit,

I had to 

WHOOP!

And Yell!

And ride the wind

like a tornado,

like a surfer

on a 40 foot wave,

skittering over the 

pavement,

relaxed

at full

attention.

YAHOOOO!

I'm an experienced

Rider.

I was riding

THE    W I N D!
