They say that self awareness is to be prized
so I should be happy to know that there is a word for people like me:
I walk around Honolulu - therefore I am.
The fairy terns (in their 3s and 4s) flying out to sea for the day,
the clouds (hello cousins!)
and the faces of people
from all over the world - of every condition
speak to the solitary walker.
My grandma was a great walker
and now it is my main exercise.
(For mind, soul, and even the body).
Passing through the beauty
clearing my head. . .
I'm never without my
camera
or a note pad!
Ideas arise
vague anxieties subside
money-making schemes emerge
and I keep walking. . .
And soon
reliably
I'm feeling restored,
fresh,
yet more my original self
with every passing block and beach.
New / old
past/present/future
dancing for once
in harmony.
The weather in Honolulu has been sunny, bright,
and without sweat
thanks to the (relatively) cool, teasing breezes.
The word perfect comes to mind. . .
So thanks for walking along with me!
You make me a blogger
instead of a bum.
Glad you share these little moments with me.
The "little"
means a lot.
Warmly, cloudia

Why hello there!!
I found you through Nancy's blog! What lovely thoughts!
The first one affected me a lot. I think it's so 'coz I need to unfurl my wings, be myself and just fly! That's what's calling out to me!
Thank you for sharing such wonderful thoughts!!
Love

I will take to the "negative" connotation of flaneur that of being a loiterer. I love the lingering scents of what has passed by as I walk through the day not knowing what will present it self as I stand firmly in my strides towards knowing that soon enough the badge will move me along and I will simply move to another wonderful loitering spot.
Not unlike this one.
Mahalo my Twin of the Lava Flow.
I like walking, too. It has me find a lot of things which have been hidden from my car window.

I'd love to be taking a walk on the beach, today. Lovely thoughts, cher! Aloha!
So instead of walking a pet, you go out walking the blog??? I love the post. Thanks for taking us along on your ramblings, physical, mental, and spiritual :)
Don't know about you, CC, but it has been a COLD 60 degrees here in Honolulu. Got the windows closed and am wearing a sweater.
I love how green the grass is in the 1st shot. Beautiful!
I can't think of a walk more pleasant than when shared with you and other bloggers. Your walks or mine. It's in the sharing.
A camera, a notepad, and a walk. I love this combination! Happy Saturday, Cloudia!
Thanks dears!
I guess I'm a flaneur at times, too. What a gorgeous day it is today. We're having a Cousins Party tonight!
Thank you Cloudia! Now we have a name!
Peekaboo, I see you !
Wishing you, dear Cloudia, always save and sound steps ahead.
fun here

Love it! Teresa says you're walkin' your blog! Thanks for sharing the scenery with us. We're melting our piles of snow, but had frozen fog coating the streets for 2 nights...looked like an ice rink needing the Zamboni. Keep sending the sunshine and warm aloha. Does Pirate Kitty follow you very far?

oOo, I love storms, so I love that picture with the threatening skies!
This Durfee person you quoted. Seems familiar...
We do have some great storms on Oahu - probably why Kitty stays on da boat :-)
