Your body listens  
to every word you think, 
the quiet witness,  
So faithful and true.
Really your oldest friend.

So do speak softly within.  
Let your thoughts
be kind. 
Tell your body:  
you are safe,  
we are healing,  
you are a gift to me.

Rest without guilt,  
and breathe.
Each inhale  
is a promise fulfilled.

Kindness 
spoken inward  
Is the best medicine.
Because your body 

believes you.
