life is a game.
(Without contentment
grows resentment.)
But pain is more than that,
WE are more than that.
It is a big part of living
on this Earth,
in these bodies.
on this Earth,
in these bodies.
Those who feel no pain
are dangerous.
are dangerous.
Pain teaches us humility,
courage,
and empathy
for other creatures.
Without pain we are heedless
hurting others needless.
hurting others needless.

Thank YOU Cloudia.
Lovely as always and good thoughts on pain. Without it, we would not know how good life is.
Well, I'm sure not dangerous then. Amazing how much pain there is in aging.
Very true quotes..those who feel no pain are really dangerous...
I enjoy your posts with these thoughtful quotes.
Beautiful man and photos -- where ARE you when you snap? flying in mid-air?
Forgot to ask earlier: how do the holes in the coconut tree trunks occur? The woodpeckers? (That's alot of pole climbing like the electric workers do on the mainland.) Doesn't it eventually weaken and fell the tree? DrumMajor
Beautiful messages of hope and overcoming adversity! Nice. I especially like the Charles Dickens quote!!
Aloha, chica! Enjoy your Sunday!!
Having suffered with chronic pain, I'm not so sure it's all that beneficial. Short term suffering is very different.
Love the Thackary quote.
Thanks for the view. I'm doing major thesis rewrites, but next weekend I start with the PhD applications... You have inspired me!
This diamond head is super. Looks a bit like Ayers Rock.

So good Cloudia. This post touched my soul...I am thankful for my pain & what it has taught me. You put it all into perfect words.
Aloha Cloudia!
Trust me, I have felt pain, and why is it even knowing better we still burn ourselves (well I sometimes do) on things from the oven....like freshly baked (and oh so yummy) chocolate chip cookies!
Great post!
Wise words my friend :)
Humility is the key.....
